Crypto Profit Calculator
Calculate net profit and ROI on any crypto trade after trading fees.
TL;DR — Crypto Profit Calculator: A crypto profit calculator finds the net profit on a cryptocurrency trade after accounting for exchange fees on both the buy and the sell. It also computes ROI — the percentage return on the initial capital deployed — so trades of different sizes can be compared. All inputs stay in your browser; no data is sent to a server.
What is the Crypto Profit Calculator?
A crypto profit calculator finds the net profit on a cryptocurrency trade after accounting for exchange fees on both the buy and the sell. It also computes ROI — the percentage return on the initial capital deployed — so trades of different sizes can be compared. All inputs stay in your browser; no data is sent to a server.
How to use the Crypto Profit Calculator
- Enter the price you bought at and the price you sold (or plan to sell) at.
- Enter the quantity of the asset (e.g. 0.5 BTC).
- Enter the round-trip trading fee percentage (combined for buy and sell — typically 0.1% to 1%).
- Read gross profit, fees paid, net profit and ROI.
Formula
Gross = (Sell − Buy) × Qty Fees = Fee% / 100 × (Qty × Buy + Qty × Sell) Net = Gross − Fees ROI = Net ÷ (Qty × Buy) × 100
Use a positive ROI for a winning trade and negative for a loss.
Worked example
Buy 1 BTC at $30,000, sell at $40,000, 0.5% round-trip fees. Gross = $10,000. Fees = 0.005 × (30,000 + 40,000) = $350. Net = $9,650. ROI = 9,650 ÷ 30,000 = 32.2%.
Frequently asked questions
Are fees usually buy plus sell?
Yes. Most exchanges charge a fee on each leg. Add the buy and sell fee percentages to get the round-trip rate.
Does this account for tax?
No. Cal44 calculates only fees and gross/net profit. Crypto gains are typically taxable; check local rules.
Should I include withdrawal/network fees?
For a more accurate net, subtract any withdrawal or network fees from net profit manually.
Is ROI annualised?
No. It is the simple return on the capital. For annualised return, use Cal44 ROI Calculator with the years field.
How do margin or leverage trades change this?
Leveraged ROI multiplies gains and losses. This calculator handles spot trades; for futures, factor in leverage and funding rates separately.
